Meet Neil Challis
Neil Challis is a graduate of maritime studies at the University of Wales and has more than 20 years of experience in the marine and environmental sectors. Neil joined NRC more than 15 years ago after working in the offshore geophysical and alternative energy sectors. He spent five years as a technical advisor with London-based International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation (ITOPF), an organization providing advice, expertise, and assistance to ship-source pollution on a global basis. Neil has attended major shipping and oil and gas incidents all over the world, including in Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Yemen, the Caribbean, and the United States. Upon joining NRC, he spent a brief period in New York, and then moved to Southeast Asia to establish NRC’s first overseas office. Now based in the United Kingdom, Neil is responsible for overseeing the company’s emergency and environmental response services outside of the US.
