EMI – South Portland, ME

EMI (an NRC-owned company) is a licensed RCRA Part B Facility specializing in the treatment of petroleum-contaminated liquids, 10-day transfer and consolidation of semi-solids and solid waste. EMI is permitted to store up to 150 containers of hazardous waste for up to 180 days. All containers of hazardous waste are stored inside in chemically-resistant, concrete-coated bays. EMI also has three (3) 15,000-gallon aboveground tanks for storage of liquid waste, and capacity for four (4) roll-off containers for bulking and storage of solid and semisolid waste.

Waste is received at EMI in both bulk loads and drums, upon which it is subjected to the facility Waste Analysis Plan.

EVI is permitted to store up to 2,353 containers (55-gallon drums) of hazardous waste for up to one year. All containers of hazardous waste are profiled for acceptance into the facility and stored inside in a climate controlled secure area with chemically resistant, concrete-coated bays.
